Frequently Asked Questions
What Should I Expect on My First Visit?
Upon arrival, you will be asked to fill out some basic paperwork. This paperwork is also available in the forms section of this website. Remember to bring in your referral from your physician, a list of current medications and any written information – operative reports, x-ray or MRI results – you have about your injury. The physical therapist will then ask you a series of questions about your past and present medical conditions, before performing a comprehensive evaluation of your muscles, joints, nerves, tendons, and ligaments including range of motion, strength and functional testing. Based on your physician’s diagnosis, our prognosis, and your personal goals, an individual treatment plan will be devised. You will receive treatment and home exercises on your first visit. Future appointments will also be scheduled.

Most patients are treated two to three times per week. The total duration of treatments will depend on the severity of your injury. The more committed you are to your recovery (meaning, you regularly attend your therapy sessions), the more likely you are to recover faster. |

Do I Need a Referral from My Doctor for Therapy?
In Tennessee you can make an appointment with a physical therapist directly, without a physician’s referral. However, Medicare and TennCare do require a doctor's referral for physical therapy in order for reimbursement.
Although a physician or other health care professional may suggest a certain facility or physical therapist based on experience or geographical location, the decision as to where you seek treatment is yours. |

What Types of Insurance Do You Accept?
We accept Medicare, AmeriGroup, Tri-Care, Medicare Windsor, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and most commercial and workers -compensation insurance plans. It is the
patient's responsibility to verify insurance coverage. Our offices will be glad to assist you should you need help.
